Running for a Reason
Miles That Matter
Every race I run is tied to a cause bigger than the finish line. This year I raised $15,575 for Fenway Health at the Boston Marathon — and now I'm lacing up for London.

The Story
From the Starting Line to Boylston Street
I grew up watching the Boston Marathon every year and dreaming that one day I might be the one running down Boylston Street.
In 2026, I had the opportunity to make that dream a reality by running Boston for charity. I started with one goal—to finish the marathon—but somewhere along the way, I fell in love with running.
Today, I run to challenge myself, support causes I believe in, spend time with friends, and be part of a community that continues to inspire me. One of the most meaningful parts has been hearing from people who say my running encouraged them to go for a run, take a walk, or simply be more active.
If my journey can motivate someone else to take that first step, that makes every mile even more worthwhile.
Fundraising in Memory of
Paul Lazdowsky
Mass General Brigham cared for my dad for years, and our family is incredibly grateful for the compassion and support he received, especially during his time on Lunder 10. Supporting Caring for a Cure is a way for me to honor him, thank those who cared for him, and help other families facing cancer.
While I was at Mass General with my dad, I learned that I had been accepted to run the 2027 London Marathon with The Lord’s Taverners, a UK charity that uses sport to create opportunities for young people with disabilities and those from disadvantaged communities.
It felt meaningful to use this marathon to support both causes. Caring for a Cure honors my dad and the care he received, while The Lord’s Taverners reflects both my career working to support low-income families and what I have personally learned through running about the power of sport to build confidence, community, and opportunity.
What is Caring for a Cure?
Caring for a Cure (CFAC) was started in 2011 by nurses working in the Adult Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant department of Mass General Hospital. CFAC's goal to improve the journey for patients and families is best achieved through fundraising for awareness, resources, and research.
CFAC has raised over $3 million since 2011 and the funds have been directed towards things both big and small — from flying in a bone marrow donor from halfway around the world, to sending caregivers out to dinner, to impromptu celebrations of anniversaries and birthdays unexpectedly spent in the hospital, to making sure new leukemia patients have real tissues.
